Collection: The Melissa Collection

This collection is very near and dear to my heart. Every sale made in this collection, a portion of it will go to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) in memory of my mom, Melissa G. Atchley. 

On March 6, 2014, our lives were forever changed when our mom was hit head on by a drunk driver at the age of 47. The driver that hit her, unfortunately passed away a few days after the accident but she survived. She miraculously survived a broken C2 vertebrae (think of the vertebrae that paralyzed Christopher Reeves a while back), a ruptured spleen, and crushed ankle. This one accident could have killed her but we were graced with her for another 10 years. This past January, unfortunately, we lost our mom due to Congestive Heart Failure, Hypoxia (not enough oxygen going to her brain, and the flu all hit her at once.

We talked alot about getting involved in MADD but mom didn't have the confidence to tell her story. So I'm now left to tell her story and raise awareness for a life changing decision that could have been avoided. If that had been avoided, I would have had a mom to celebrate Mother's Day with this year and many more years to come.

My mom's love for the ocean and everything sea life related could be seen throughout her entire life. This collection is one that is put together to embody everything she loved. I hope you love it as well!
